Cheng Chumo (Xu Kai), a famous playboy in Chang An and the son of the duke, falls in love with Fu Rou (Li Yitong) at first sight. When Cheng Chumo learns that Fu Rou likes responsible and talented men, he decides to change his frivolous ways and work hards to improve himself. Initially taking steps only to win Fu Rou’s heart, he witnesses the threats of pirates in the waters and thieves who steal from their own countrymen. Upon realizing his responsibilities, he decides to dedicate his life for the Tang Dynasty and joins the army. Seeing how much Cheng Chumo has sacrificed, Fu Rou is slowly moved by his sincerity and efforts, . However, luck does not seem to be on their side when Fu Rou is appointed as a court lady and cannot stay with Cheng Chumo anymore.
